DitoGear™ OmniSlider
Overview
DitoGear™ OmniSlider, the successor of DitoGear™ DriveCam Slider is an affordable linear motion control solution dedicated for DSLR and video cameras.
Designed and engineered by filmmakers for filmmakers, OmniSlider proves itself as a versatile and essential piece of equipment for video, time-lapse and stop-motion applications.
Note on video performance of DitoGear™ OmniSlider Stepper
Some of our customers reported, that in video mode the DitoGear™ OmniSlider Stepper, especially the 2.0m & 2.5m units are likely to reinforce vibrations generated by motor at some speeds and with some particular camera/rig configurations.
The issue described above might cause some artifacts to the recorded image only in video mode, mainly on 2.0m and 2.5m stepper versions, only at selected speeds and with some particular camera configurations. Stop motion and timelapse mode are not affected. 1.0m and 1.5m stepper units will perform better for realtime filming, but for the best performance, the servo versions are recommended.
Video mode
In video mode the device is controlled user using a 4-directional analog joystick along with 2 potentiometers.
A speed damping parameter allows for smooth speed-up and slow-down of the camera trolley for the ultimately smooth motion.
The max speed parameter provides quick and accessible control over the maximum speed of the trolley.
MotionRecording mode
Due to its innovative design, OmniSlider allows for easy and intuitive recording of real-time action up to 80s length.
Recording is stored in controller memory and can be played back in real time for video applications or slowed down for timelapse shooting. No complicated programming nor calculations are required. You’re the director, we do the rest!
StopMotion mode
DitoGear™ OmniSlider proves itself also in stop-motion applications. A StopMotion mode allows you to set the total number of frames to be taken across the slider length and fire each of exposures manually after setting up or altering your stop motion film stage.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider Controller controls camera shutter using dedicated camera cables. After the shot is triggered slider moves by calculated distance to set up for next shot. Trolley position can be controlled with 0.1 mm precision - that gives you over 10 000 individual shots per meter allowing even for extreme stop-motion macro shots.
TimeLapse mode
DitoGear™ OmniSlider has been designed and engineered for advanced time-lapse photography applications. Its basic time-lapse mode allows to set desired time-lapse length and, optionally, a number of frames to be taken. The software and a built-in intervalometer makes all the necessary calculations for you.
The slider is capable of working in continuous as well as drive-shoot-drive modes.
Moreover, a motion recording mode allows for recording up to 80s of real-time motion that can be played back over the desired period of time (up to 1000h) for time-lapse photography.
Horizontal and vertical operation
DitoGear™ OmniSlider is capable of working in horizontal as well as vertical setup. This feature provides some extra creative possibilities for demanding users and makes the crane-like moves available within one device. No more boring shots!
Intuitive User Interface
DitoGear OmniSlider has been designed for the maximum comfort and ease of use. The device is controlled using 4-directional joystick and 2 potentiometers regulating speed damping and maximum operating speed.
The joystick-controlled intuitive menu system in conjunction with a large LCD display allows for quick and convenient operation of the device.
Weatherproof
OmniSlider meets the requirements of working under diverse weather conditions. The design of basic version, including CNC uni-body drive and electronics hood with sealed connectors makes it resistant to high humidity, dew, or midday heat. For those, who need an extreme performance under diverse weather conditions we have prepared a set of extra features.
OmniSlider Extreme Edition includes a thermal grease and LCD heating system allowing for operating under -25°C and improving the device’s performance in low temperatures. The dedicated slider cover system makes the unit much more resistant under such conditions as heavy rain, snow, frost and sand.
OmniSlider Extreme edition provides the highest operating standards and lets you enjoy the cameramen work in nearly all weather conditions.
High precision
DitoGear™ OmniSlider has been manufactured using high-precision CNC technologies.
Its high stiffness makes it possible to use the slider in combination with magic arm for the most demanding shots.
Regardless of how you shoot, be sure DitoGear™ OmniSlider will perform flawlessly and precisely.
Low power consumption
At DitoGear we understand the hard working conditions on a set and the requirements of remote locations. Therefore OmniSlider has also been designed as an energy-efficient unit.
Its power saving algorithms allows for about 10h of continuous operation in TimeLapse and StopMotion mode or 3h in Video mode a fully charged battery kit.
Warranty
DitoGear™ OmniSlider Slider is being sold with 12-months worldwide warranty.
Warranty extensions are available as an extra option upon request.
Important note
The camera and video head are shown for informational purposes only and are not offered by DitoGear™. The Support Feet Pro are an extra piece of accessory and are not included in the kit.
